Kari is a Physician Associate and a professionally trained nutritional chef. At Clinica Family Health, a federally qualified health center, she carried a panel of 1,200 patients at fifteen minutes a visit, managing high-risk pregnancies and every condition family medicine sends you, in a community with almost no access to specialists.
Then she started doing post-hospital home visits, sitting with new mothers and their newborns in their own kitchens. An hour with a patient. She would leave those homes knowing it had worked, and knowing it was only one hour and there would not be another.

Retrospective cohort study of 139 participants with gestational diabetes, enrolled at Pediatrix and Obstetrix sites in Denver between August 2024 and July 2025. Delivery outcomes available for 53. Currently under peer review. IRB exemption granted, HCA-HealthONE.
Co-authored with investigators at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and the Colorado School of Public Health, who performed the statistical analysis independently and hold no equity in RenewRx.

What we found
Lower rates of first-time cesarean delivery, NICU admission, and preterm birth than published U.S. benchmarks for gestational diabetes. No babies born severely oversized.
Descriptive comparisons, n=53 for delivery outcomes, no control group.
